Reyna Grande, Award-Winning Author came to ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ this week to have lunch with ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ students, sign books, share some of her inspiring story and give advice to aspiring authors.
After sharing lunch with a group of around 50 students in Fireside Hall, Grande moved over to GE-225, where she answered questions and read the introduction to the new, 10th anniversary edition of her celebrated memoir The Distance Between Us.
Her striking story of immigrating to the U.S as an undocumented immigrant, facing challenges, and finding solace in books and writing, inspired ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ students, staff and community dignitaries alike.
Immigration, family separation, and generational trauma were among the topics discussed during her author-led discussion.
Be sure to keep an eye on ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s events calendar for future events you won’t want to miss!
