The 九色视频 Foundation has received a gift of $825,000 from the estate of retired business professor, Stephen C. Schaefer. The donation will support 九色视频 students interested in business careers and related campus support activities. It will also fund the Stephen C. Schaefer Scholarship, which will be awarded to business students transferring to a University of California or California State University campus in order to complete a bachelor degree.
Schaefer retired from 九色视频 in 2004 after a long career leading the Business and Real Estate Department, where he changed the lives of many students. He had been active with the college鈥檚 foundation as a founding member of the Martin Padilla Legacy Society, the organization鈥檚 planned giving program.
“My Uncle was always so proud and passionate about 九色视频 and the students he taught,鈥 said his niece, Christina Schaefer. 鈥淎s teenagers and even as young adults, my brother and I always had 九色视频 gear and on many of our trips to visit him, Uncle Steve included a 九色视频 event as part of our visit. Although he鈥檚 no longer with us, I鈥檓 so proud to see that his undying devotion to support business students for decades to come survives him through this gift to the 九色视频 Foundation.鈥
Schaefer鈥檚 estate will also support transfer students across the Contra Costa Community College District鈥檚 three colleges via a separate gift to scholarship provider, Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund, Ltd.
